Having Faith in the Bible

i know many on here have lost faith in the bible , is it possible that is because ones do not have the right perspective regarding it .

we have usually been taught by bad teachers , or ignorant .

i believe if we take an honest look at the bible , we will see that it gives us the best answers to crucial matters , it gives us some amount of bearings ( understanding ) , which without having such knowledge we would all be more like walking zombies in amanner of speaking , we would be lacking hope in something better , for surely something better is to come , how can we be sure , .

Free Mind , I am sure that the authenticity of there actually being certain writings containing more pertenant matters that were written before scripture are quite questionable and believable mostly to those that want to belief such , but let's say that certain writings were in Egypt before being written in scripture , then it would appear that such good knowledge was gained from Gods spirit one way or the other and found worthy of being in scripture . I appreciate your response sincerely .

In regards to Aten , there really didn't appear to be substantiation , only some things relative .

Just like people that want to believe in certain things about but he Bible and will find justification , sometimes not all that good . Some people have gotten so turned off by wrong understanding of scripture that they will easily accept things which are said about other things , but in all honesty really don't have true justification .

It s a real learning experience , I will agree to get to that which is really true .

In regards to people being gay , the scriptures speak of certain people , not that they should be killed , but something else , but one that promotes such a thing is truly going against God , just like one that would promote Greed , or has some other weakness , typically we don't act like we are proud of such ,but live with it the best that we can , that is all God requires of us , if we slip we try to do better , not promote things which are contrary .

Let's take a look at Law , Law will always prevail sooner or later , did that Rich Bastard just gun down or run over some poor old man , misfiurtunate woman or child , well Law will demand repayment of some form , and that life that was squashed will certainly be restored ; Law would demand this , and the scriptures say that such will happen .

Is there any other book that gives us a better understanding of where we came from , and what may be / is to be our future .

AM I RIGHT TO SAY THERE IS NO OTHER BOOK ! written before the scriptures in this regard that is more worth believing .

Was there any book written before the Bible to speak of thesacredness of marriage , of course we say . . . . what about King David and others that had MANY wives , OK , but really does it say anywhere in scripture that such was a blessed arrangement , or have we read into the scriptures this kind of understanding , is it possible some things were written for us to be more critical of .

Junction Guy makes an observation about life that I believe many can relate to . I believe that I rule in this arena , as I guess others may also believe the same about themselves , Years ago when I was traveling between Texas and Florida , it seemed as if the Hurricanes went wherever I had left from .

There is probably nothing that hurts like having your children ripped away from you either unjustly , or with just cause , but the pain I expect goes deeper when you have your children unjustly taken from you , which I believe women are most often the perpetrators of this criminal activity which often no criminal actions are taken against one , then you are lied against in order for them to continue their scheme .

When my wife and I got back together back in 1986 , everything was going OK , I had learned to control my frustration in regards to her very very irrational behavior , running out of the house and telling me she wasn't going to stay home with the children while I went to work . There was no drama the last time we got back together , then just like 2 days after we all went to the outer Disney area , and had a nice time , she disappeared with the children while I was at work , went back to her parents 1000 miles away , I followed in order to see my children. taking a leave from my job , I slept in the park and got a job at Richards Restaurant , stayed just 1 day late after my bus ticket expired for return trip , so I ended up hitchhiking back to Florida , never having been allowed to spend time with my children , except I agree only in her parents house . My ex had ran up a phone bill of more than $750.00 , during that last time we were back together for about 6 weeks . 12 months later she looses the children , to the Babysitter due to neglect , and abuse by her and her new husband , I only found out by hiring a PI . About 16 years later , I made contact with my children , and things looked like they might go well , they were asking about their mother though , at the mall I talked a little about their mother , making a positive note in one regard , REMEMBER , so anyway I helped them get back together with their mother . The elder told me she was married with 3 children , now I am talking to my children and they say Mom is living with them , along with their 3 children , and I say you mean she is visiting , NO she is living here now , she divorced and now living there with them . I call the elder he says that her husband is trying to sell the property and move down there also ? ? ? ? ? ? So I am talking to my children again . . . . . . DON'T YOU CALL MOM A LIAR they are hysterical and upset at me ... . seems that their mother is also feeding them those old lies once again .. . . its hell all over again 😨

Being in a cult - what good did it do?

so, here's a bit of a different point of view.

while most of us will agree that our time within the jw cult was rather terrible, however, i'd like to look at another aspect.

did anything good come out of being in a cult and then waking up from it?.

Being able to speak of some of the good things that existed in a religion , which one has left , is a sign that they are reasonable people , and open minded . Such gives more credence to the decision that they have made in leaving this church .

I wonder had I not joined this religion , would I have been some sucessful Jerk , one never knows , I have though learned how to live a life in poverty most of life , and still at times , be able to smile , I lost my 2 children mostly due to the teachings of this religion , and the religion giving no support for headsip if it appears that the woman that left is more of a witness than the man . Her home congregation supported her in keeping the children away from me then 12 months later she lost the children to some UCC relious people she became friends with , her and new husband neglect and abuse of the children .

I have though learned well how not to be a part of the world that just wants to have a good time , no matter if it based upon falsehoods , or hurts other people

Is door to door activity over?

GOING DOOR TO DOOR , . . . . ON SATURDAY

EVER WONDER HOW THIS ACTIVITY CONTINUES ON , AND ON THE SABBATH DAY .

It seems to me that there are a few religions that at least something right , but it seems that having one or two things right is about as far as it goes .

Who amongst us have gone door to door on our own , that is not in support of the Watchtower . A strange thing happened , I rented a room at the Rec Center , for eve Bible Study / Meetings , and was canvassing the local area very much for a month , by myself .

On top of this, people stalking me / some criminal org or religious cult , Now I am prayerfully considering what would take place during this meeting . There were not as many as I had hoped for , less than 100 , actually less than 20 , , for some odd reason only Proverbs ch 1 , stuck in my mind , so I said OK , that is what it will be , no matter who shows up . After that I would introduce my 500 scripture study on large screen .

Who actually showed up , just 1 person , and I am sure that that one person was part of the criminal org . stalking me , and guess what else , it was a women . Oh how I thank God that that part of the Bible was put in my head to review .

My first "disagreement" with standard JW thinking

about two years after i was baptized, i had this incident.

i looked at it as an isolated incident at the time, but now realize it would have had basically the same result with 99.99% of any jws not members here.. i will keep it short.

i was talking with a person who was raised in the religion.

does god care what we call him , of course he does , he had his name written in the bible as yhwh ( best i can do on this computer ) , more than 6000 times .

The real story on why The Watchtower society lost a Kingdom hall in Bonham ,Texas.!

: the body of elders and the majority of the congregation decided to leave the watch tower organization.

and with that, they took the kingdom hall.

Who owns the KH building , if it is being financed by the Society , then the Society of course maintains ownership , till it has been paid for . If locals put up 50% or more of the costs , then it should be a shared ownership , when of course you have witnesses giving their labor for free to build the KH , this would raise a possible issue .

People of the Watchtower should be setting an example , of not COVETING , their primary objective should be Teaching the correct understanding of Biblical importance . Of course some safeguards are necessary , you wouldn't want a KH owned by just one brother that may later decide , that he no longer wants anything to do with the JWs , and sells the KH , this would put extreme stress upon any organization , having to worry about such things , this of course doesn't mean the Society should claim ownership of all the KHs .

SURE WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A COPY OF THAT LETTER FROM THE TEXAS CONGREGATION THAT WAS SENT TO THE WATCHTOWER . IT APPEARS THE SOCIETY REALLY ACTED IRRATIONALLY REGARDING IT .

Although there appears to be still lacking evidence , very oddly there are incitations of God's name having been written in the New Testament , besides Jws , others speak of MATTHEW as possibly have been originally in Hebrew , but no real evidence of this found as of yet .

We know that when the NT writings were being written , God's name was no longer in use by those of the Orthodox , and it was much discouraged ; were there possible reasons why do not find the name of God in the NT besides the idea , that it wasn't of any importance , possibly there were severe consequences if found in those letters which had wide circulation . It is said in John ch 17, though that Yeshua / Jesus made God's name known , there is no reason to read into this , anything but that which it says .. that Yeshua reminded the people of God's name YHWH , quite possibly this is one more thing that created friction between Yeshua , and some of the religious leaders .
